Berrien County Historical Association (BCHA) will receive $7,500 to extend the run of the historical exhibit, "Lost on the Lakes: Shipwrecks of Southwest Michigan" to Orchards Mall in Benton Harbor from November 15 through December 30, 2001. The exhibit employs the drama and popular interest in shipwrecks as a tool to explore topics of maritime history and the value of shipwrecks as "time capsules" that allow historians and archaeologists to examine Michigan's maritime heritage and material culture of the past.
