| 2004 Michigan Story Festival -- (2003) Grant Awarded: November 2003 Type of Grant: Public Humanities Development Grant Sponsor: Central Michigan University Contact: Sue Ann Martin, marti1sa@cmich.edu Award: $31,000 Website: www.michiganstoryfestival.org Central Michigan University has been awarded a $31,000 Public Humanities Development Grant for the 2004 Michigan Story Festival. The event will celebrate the different ways stories can touch and inspire. The featured presenters will relate stories about life experiences -- biography and autobiography – through movement, dance, music, exhibitions and the spoken word, including journals, letters and myths. Cosponsors include the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, Isabella Bank and Trust, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the City of Mt. Pleasant. This project is a continuation of the 2003 Story Festival, also sponsored by CMU and held from October 17-18, 2003; Michigan Humanities Council awarded a $15,000 grant for that project (please see www.michiganstoryfestival.org for more information).
