Central Michigan University (Mt. Pleasant) was awarded $6,213 to support an expansion of the 2006 Michigan Story Festival, with additional performances to senior centers and assisted living complexes in the mid-Michigan area. The senior outreach performances will expand from four last year to as many as 12 in 2006. They will be held in the fall prior to the actual festival. In addition, a series of performances and storytelling workshops will be conducted at K-12 schools throughout the region.
