This proposed project includes researching, producing, and airing seven 90-second video stories on lesser-known pieces of Michigan history. A web page will also be produced featuring the videos and links to the sites of project partners. Project should heighten awareness of and interest in Michigan’s history. The Michigan Minutes segments are expected to air through 2009 and reach a general public audience through Michigan PBS stations. It is anticipated that many of the segments will focus on smaller communities and showcase the choices the residents made and innovations they created from opportunities/circumstances that befell them. The project creates some new and unique collaborations. Applicant hosts monthly screenings at the Ann Arbor District Library and will have a chance to conduct audience surveys at that time on the effectiveness of this project.
