| Past
experience: I am a full-blooded Navajo, living in the Kalamazoo area. As a young boy growing up on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, I was taught the understanding of culture and diversity. In my seminars I may incorporate the old stories of my people and play the traditional flute to engage the audience in a new understanding of the links between the nations. I may also share my personal story of living as a young child on the reservation, being removed from my people and brought to a missionary school where my language and cultural traditions were forbidden, and now incorporate my Native American heritage with the western world. I also explore current issues today. |
