experience: As the Curator of the Leelanau Historical Museum, I have planned & implemented local historical, fine, and traditional arts exhibits & programs since 1985. I have served both as paid and/or volunteer lecturer, consultant, interviewer, evlauator, & program participant for other institutions including Con Foster Museum, the Maritime Heritage Alliance of Northwest Michigan, Inland Seas Education Association Michigan Humanities Council, and others. BS in History & Political Scince, Northern Michigan University; Associates Degree in Photography, Lansing Community College; MLSme University of Oaklahoma, Windeale Museum Institute; Museum Technician Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore; & others. My interest in traditional Anishinaabek arts begain in 1987. AS LHM Curator I conducted an inventory of Odawa & Ojibway Arts compiling data on 600 objects of local origin. I have produced multiple exhibits using museum & private collections & most recently installed the Leelanau Historical Museum "Traditional Arts of the Anishinaabek Room" |
