| Past
experience: I wrote a successful grant and completed a project on Art and Censorship, funded by Michigan Humanities Council in 2002. Our project is located on the NPR website as well as the Interlochen Center for the Arts website. I planned the project and curriculum together with my colleagues, wrote the grant proposal, participated in all aspects of the project and conducted the evaluation. I have a MA in Education and an MA in Literacy. I have been an ESL teacher for 20 years. I have written an article on using radio drama projects as a means of teaching fluency for ESL students. I will complete the article after this project and submit it for publication to a peer-reviewed journal. I was the chairperson of the Traverse City Human Rights Commission for two years and have organized panel discussions as chiar of that organization. I am currently organizing a forum to be held on October 11, 2006 at the Traverse Area District Library on Proposal 2 on the Michigan ballot in November as a board member of a local civic organization. |
