experience: Historian/teacher of Afrikan and Black American History,
researcher, and consultant of the Underground Railroad (UGRR), anti-slavery
activists and movements in Flint/Genesee County, Michigan. UGRR Community
Liaison for Flint/Genesee County UGRR, for the Flint Underground Railroad
Heritage Project. I was commissioned with a team of researchers funded
by the Ruth Mott Foundation and the Michigan Historical Center to
research and identify links between 19th Century Black Americans,
their resistance to slavery, anti-slavery activists and the anti-slavery
movement. I have lectured at various schools, colleges, universities,
churches, historical societies, and organizations regarding the UGRR
and anti-slavery activities in Flint/Genesee County. Publications:
"The Stop: The Underground Railroad In Flint, Michigan,"
1999; a Flint history book about the "Alternate Route 6."
I have been the Historian and researcher for the Museum of Black American
History Flint (MBAHF) for the past 25 years. I collect and document
the contributions and achievements of Afrikans and Afrikans of the
Diaspora. I am also Founder and curator of the Museum of Black American
History Flint. |
