Michigan Humanities Council: Michigan People, Michigan Places

Resources

The Michigan Humanities Council provides additional resources to assist organizations with public humanities programs.

Directory of Humanities Professionals

The Directory of Humanities Professionals serves organizations across Michigan in planning and implementing public humanities projects. Humanities professionals may assist with consulting, planning, or evaluating humanities projects. Discussion leaders, facilitators, lecturers, panelists, presenters, and researchers are among roles scholars and professionals play in the development of public humanities programs and projects. Applications are accepted to be listed as a humanities professional, as well as quick grant applications for funding to support the use of a professional for a public humanities project.

Logos and Artwork

Organizations who have received grants or are partners with the Michigan Humanities Council can access a variety of formats of logos and related artwork to assist with their publicity efforts and required acknowledgements.

Media and Publicity Tools

The Michigan Humanities Council provides sample letters, invitations, press releases, fliers, and other tools to assist with publicizing public humanities events. The Council assists its grant recipients and other partners with contacting local media to help get the word out about programs and program-related events.

The samples are available for download as part its information packet of publicity requirements. Other examples may also be obtained by contacting the Michigan Humanities Council.
