This annual festival, co-sponsored by URSCC and the Village of Vandalia, celebrates the UGRR in this community. URSCC hosts guided tours of the Kentucky Slave Raid of 1847, open houses at three UGRR sites, Civil War soldiers encampment, displays, and music. The Village of Vandalia sponsors vendors, food, and a community church service on Sunday morning. The James E. Bonine House, Bonine Carriage House, and the Stephen Bogue House will be open for tours. New this year is the opening of third floor of the Bonine Carriage House, where freedom seekers were sheltered after 1850. Admission and parking are free.
